The Objective

Prinics is the manufacturer and distributor of KODAK Photo Printers in Korea and has been successfully integrating photo printing technology into the consumer electronics market. After being on TikTok since November 2022 and starting a TikTok Shop to target users in the United States a year later, Prinics focused on building their brand presence and popularity on the platform, hoping to eventually become the top brand in the Photo Printer industry on TikTok Shop in the American market.


Their consistent marketing efforts helped them quickly rise up the ranks, becoming one of the top 19 stores in the Camera & Photography category. With a growing audience based in the United States, Prinics wanted to seize the opportunity of the year-end festivity by collaborating with creators to create content that can drive product sales of their KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro camera. 



The Solution

Representing a new generation of storytellers, TikTok creators build communities through and spark conversations through the latest trends as well as define culture through their engaging and creative content. This has influenced the way people discover new products and ideas while also creating a new solution for brands to connect with creators to help them amplify their reach and engage with diverse communities all over the platform. To leverage the influence of creators and reach their target audience with relatable messaging, Prinics leveraged the TikTok Creative Challenge (TTCC), inviting creators to submit video to their brand challenges for advertising use through Affiliate Creative Authorisation. In exchange, creators who produced selected videos would receive rewards based on video performance, making it a mutually beneficial creative production solution. 


To amplify the creator-generated videos, Prinics launched a Video Shopping Ads (VSA) campaign that would target users in the United States on the ‘For You’ feed, where they can view more details of their KODAK Mini Shot 3 Retro camera through a product anchor link. As users get taken from the ‘For You’ feed to their TikTok Shop seamlessly, it creates a fuss-free shopping experience for potential customers to convert. The ad format maximizes the reach of product discovery and boosts purchase intent as well as conversions. To test for creative effectiveness, Prinics tested between video angles positioning their product as a Christmas gift versus a hybrid camera and printer for hobbyists.



The Result

The Video Shopping Ads campaign leveraging creator-generated videos from the TikTok Creative Challenge was successful, as Prinics wrapped up their campaign with more than 611% Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) at a high 2.65% clickthrough rate (CTR) as well as making more than 1.8M impressions amongst users in the United States. As part of the campaign, their Christmas-themed ads recorded a 2.83x ROAS on over 48 purchases in just 3 days.


Month to month, Prinics observed a 20% growth in sales, instilling their confidence in TikTok as a platform to continue advertising on. Since December, Prinics has collaborated with over 126 creators, growing their GMV and page followers along the way. The combination of ads and affiliates on the platform has given them the leverage to reach and convert more customers effectively, accelerating sales in shorter periods of time. Compared to sales performance on their webstore, TikTok Shop has recorded 2.4x more revenue per month since they started*. With the sustained success, Prinics optimistic about continuing its investment in affiliate creators and Shop Ads to promote the launch of their upcoming products in the United States and other countries.

*Within just 2 months, TikTok Shop achieved revenue equivalent to 40% of Prinic’s baseline annual revenue from their webstore.
