Beauty brand Wonderskin was looking for a more scalable solution for leveraging creator content and expanding in a new market. With TikTok Creative Challenge (TTCC), the brand was able to easily select market-native creative partners to help them drive sales and boost ROAS. So far, Wonderskin has worked with 407 creators through TTCC, producing ad content that catapulted Lip Stain and Eyeliner sales. TTCC has reshaped the brand’s ad content strategy.

Re-capturing a viral moment with scalable creator content

 

Beauty content thrives on TikTok. From makeup bag tours to GRWM videos and must-try products, cosmetics brands are witnessing the power of creator content – and some are unlocking a more cost-effective way of leveraging it.

 

Beauty brand and product innovator Wonderskin had first-hand experience of TikTok virality thanks to the visually disruptive nature of user-generated content (UGC). Now, aiming to drive sales, boost brand awareness and support its market expansion in the US, the brand needed a more scalable solution; enter TikTok Creative Challenge (TTCC).

The Solution

Seamlessly launching multiple campaigns simultaneously


With TTCC’s unique briefing platform, Wonderskin could easily create multiple briefs with different product focuses, appealing to multiple customer personas. By enabling the brand to change its keywords to find the right creators, add do’s and dont’s, and provide any creative suggestions for the videos, TTCC enabled a seamless briefing process.


Among Wonderskin’s most successful TTCC activations was its ‘1140 Longwear Eyeliner’ campaign. Aiming to grow its US customer base, the brand sourced American creators to encourage viewer affinity and boost engagement.

 

In the videos, creators tested the product and its non-smudge claims with entertaining videos using US-native language like, “I feel you girl” and “Obsessed is an understatement”, leaning into their natural style.

 

Thanks to TTCC’s ‘open call’ style brief, Wonderskin was able to easily select the right creative and, with Ads Manager integration, effortlessly take the content live. Powered by a consistent flow of creator content, Wonderskin witnessed the impressive results of using a more scalable strategy with TTCC.

For Wonderskin, TTCC has been a game-changer. Not only has it given the brand a scalable solution for gathering creator content, the high-performing ads have also boosted sales exponentially.

 

Since last year, Wonderskin has launched eight campaigns on TikTok Creative Challenge across eight product skews – and partnered with a huge 407 different creators.

 

By using market-relevant creators and trusting their intuition, Wonderskin received a wide range of authentic-feeling videos that drove impressive results. Comparing overall ad performance, TTCC ads drove 1000% sales velocity growth for Wonderskin’s ‘1140 Longwear Eyeliner’. The brand also saw a 328% increase in return on ads spend (ROAS), with a CTR increase of 182% and a 53% reduction in CPC.

 

The impactful creator content enhanced brand visibility across its key demographic, reinforcing its first viral moment with a more scalable solution.
