Japan / JP

Prohibited

  • ​Ads promoting futures, foreign exchange, P2P related products.

  • ​Ads promoting credit card cash out services and financial services provided by overseas institutions.

  • ​Ads promoting prescription drugs, medical devices, online pharmacies.

  • ​Ads promoting contraceptive devices or contraceptives.

  • ​Ads promoting overseas real estate transactions.

  • ​Ads promoting cashable games, real money trade and paid gacha in games.

  • ​Ads promoting adult entertainment such as host/hostess bar or club and maid cafes.

  • ​Ads promoting breast augmentation, hormone therapy, and genital treatment in domestic cosmetic surgery.

  • ​Ads promoting payroll prepayment (factoring) service

  • ​Ads promoting overseas medical institutions and medical services, domestic and overseas online pharmacies and prescription drugs.

  • ​Ads promoting clinical trials for the elderly.

  • ​Ads promoting dating video chat services that do not meet criteria.

  • ​Ads promoting sale or adoption of live animals.

  • ​Ads promoting public gambling, pachinko parlor, and pachinko machine.

  • ​Ads promoting a product/service with unfounded source/information or creating an impression of obtaining high returns or success with little risk, skill, effort, or time, often without legitimate evidence. (For e.g. Get-rich-quick schemes, work-at-home schemes, etc.)

Restricted

  • ​Financial Services

    • ​Ads that promote credit card, loans, funds, insurance or any other permitted financial related products or services, including fintech should comply with relevant laws and regulations. Approval or registered license from local authorities is required. Advertiser of such ads should be the member of its industry association. Ads may also need to target 20+ only.

    • ​Ads related to cryptocurrency/virtual currencies, including trading and advisory platforms must be authorized by the Japanese FSA (Financial Services Agency), with an age target of 20+.

    • ​Ads related to NFT are currently in operation for clients who have obtained permission from TikTok via an application process and may only target users aged 18+ or 20+ (for financial trade).

  • ​Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Medicines, Cosmetics, Beauty products

    • ​All wordings and expressions must comply with Medical Law, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, the Ahaki Law, or any related industry guidelines.

    • ​For health food products, it is required to indicate that it is a dietary supplement to support nutrition.

    • ​Necessary annotations should be clearly indicated for users to acknowledge and to understand.

    • ​For non-pharmaceutical products, wordings or expressions that acts on the body or can be misinterpreted as acting on the body is not allowed.

    • ​Expressions that may mislead or deviate from the efficacy of the product may not be used.

    • ​For pharmaceuticals and medical products, wordings and expressions are strictly bound to restrictions.

    • ​Negative expressions relating towards the body or appearance cannot be used. Expressions that suggest bullying, discrimination, etc. are restricted.

  • ​Dating Applications or Services

    • ​Ads that promote dating/live streaming applications or services must target 18+ and must comply with local regulations. Such ads must not be overtly sexual or reference transactional companionship or cheating, etc. Dating ads should not be sexually suggestive in nature (e.g., focusing on bodies, sexual language or innuendo, etc.).

  • ​Food & Drinks

    • ​Ads that promote alcoholic beverages must target 20+ and must comply with guidelines established by the Alcoholic Beverage Advertising Review Committee.

  • ​Retail/Shopping

    • ​Ads that promote e-commerce must include company name, address, valid contact information, privacy policy, contact information and terms of use on landing page.

  • ​Games

    • ​Ads that promote simulated gambling games are allowed but must target 18+ only. Please note that such ads should not encourage users to gamble and/or have any opportunity to win cash.


South Korea / KR

Prohibited

  • ​Ads promoting professional drugs, some over-the-counter drugs with same format or taking method with professional drugs, online pharmacies.

  • ​Ads promoting breast enlargement surgery or product.

  • Ads promoting lotteries or random boxes with luxury items or high-cost goods.

  • ​Ads promoting certain private healthcare products.

Restricted

  • ​Financial Services

    • ​Ads that promote credit card, loans, insurance, e-payment tools, stock related services including stock investment consultation services and any other permitted financial products or services, including fintech should comply with relevant laws and regulations, Approval from local authority or supervision agency is required. Ads may also need to target 18+ only and no exaggerated description is allowed.

    • ​Ads promoting cryptocurrency exchange platforms should have approval from local authority or supervision agency.

    • ​Any P2P investment related materials are restricted and need age targeting of 18+ and need a deliberation number and highest annual rate in ad creatives.

  • ​Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Medicines

    • ​Ads that promote medical institutions, over-the-counter drugs, healthcare products and medical devices should be registered in supervision agency or contain deliberation number. Surgical procedure scene that may affect users' experience is not allowed.

  • ​Food & Drinks

    • ​Ads that promote low degree alcoholic beverages must not target underage groups and warning messages should be included. Ads promoting high degree alcoholic beverages are prohibited. For ads that promote high sugar carbonated foods or beverages, please note that providing free toys or goods enticing children to consume the advertised foods or beverages is prohibited.

  • ​Dating Applications or Services

    • ​Ads that promote dating/live streaming applications or services must target 18+. Such ads must not be overtly sexual or reference transactional companionship or cheating, etc. Dating ads should not be sexually suggestive in nature (e.g., focusing on bodies, sexual language or innuendo, etc). Sexual dating/live streaming applications are prohibited.

  • ​Retail/Shopping

    • ​Ads that promote e-commerce must include business registration number, manager name, address, contact number, e-mail address on landing page.

  • ​Games

    • ​Ads that promote simulated gambling games are allowed but must target 18+ only. Please note that such ads should not have any opportunity to win money or real value prizes. Such ads must be properly graded.

  • ​Media and Entertainment

    • Ads that promote films must contain age rating in them and the films to be advertised should have the film rating from KMRB. Film and TV shows must not contain profanity and crude language, sexually suggestive language or images, graphic violence, or drug use, and must be targeted at the appropriate age group.


Taiwan / TW

Prohibited

  • ​Ads promoting stock, loan shark and private funds related products or services.

  • ​Ads promoting prescription drugs and genetic testing services.

  • ​Ads promoting breast enlargement surgery or product.

  • ​Ads promoting random box with luxury item or high-cost goods

  • ​Ads promoting individual attorney.

Restricted

  • ​Financial Services

    • ​Ads that promote credit card, loans, insurance, public funds and any other permitted financial related products or services should comely with relevant laws and regulations. Approval or license from local authority is required. Proper disclaimer should be disclosed. Ads may also need to target 18+ only.

  • ​Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Medicines

    • ​Ads that promote medical institutions, over-the-counter drugs, healthcare products and medical devices should comply with relevant laws and regulations. Registration or license from local authority is required.

    • Contraceptive (condom) ads must target 18+, be limited to be aired after 10:30 PM, should not include pleasure focus, expressions that "ensure health", and product packaging and labeling should follow local authority requirements.

  • ​Food & Drinks

    • ​Ads that promote alcoholic beverages must target 18+ only. Warning message should be included.

    • ​Ads that promote infant food, please note that milk powder or complementary nutritional products for babies under 12 months are prohibited.

  • ​Lotteries

    • ​Ads that promote lotteries need approval of distribution from local authority and must target to 25+ only. Ads that promote other lotteries are prohibited. Such ads must not incite purchase or contain the expression of winning promise.

  • ​Dating Applications or Services

    • ​Ads that promote dating/live streaming applications or services must target 18+. Such ads must not be overtly sexual or reference transactional companionship or cheating, etc. Dating ads should not be sexually suggestive in nature (e.g., focusing on bodies, sexual language or innuendo, etc). Sexual dating/live streaming applications are prohibited.

  • ​Games

    • ​Ads that promote simulated gambling games are allowed but must target 18+ only. Please note that such ads should not have any opportunity to win money or real value prizes.

  • ​Media and Entertainment

    • Ads that promote films must contain age rating in them and the films to be advertised should have the film rating from BAMID (Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development). Film and TV shows must not contain profanity and crude language, sexually suggestive language or images, graphic violence, or drug use, and must be targeted at the appropriate age group.
