How to map CRM events to standard events in TikTok Events Manager

CRM event mapping allows you to align your custom CRM events with TikTok’s standard events, helping to enable better lead quality optimization (LQO) and deeper funnel performance tracking. By mapping events, you can provide clearer signals to TikTok’s optimization models, which can improve campaign effectiveness.

Before you begin

To successfully map your CRM events, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • Your CRM system is integrated with TikTok via Zapier or another supported integration method.

  • You have access to Event Manager in TikTok Ads Manager.

  • You understand the difference between custom events (from your CRM) and standard events (TikTok’s predefined event types).

  • You have identified the custom events you want to map to TikTok’s standard events.

How to map CRM events for lead quality optimization

Follow these steps to map your CRM events to TikTok’s standard events:

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Hover over the Tools tab, then select Events to enter Events Manager.

  3. Select Data sources.

  4. Locate the CRM Events section and review the list of custom events posted back from your CRM.

  5. Click the Mapped Standard Event dropdown button next to the custom event you want to align with a standard event.

  6. Select the appropriate Standard Event from the dropdown menu that best matches the custom event.

  7. Save your changes to complete the mapping process.

  8. Repeat the process for all relevant custom events.

If you need to edit or delete an existing mapping:

  • To edit: select another event from the dropdown list to update your custom event to a standard event selection. A warning will appear if the change may impact active campaigns.

  • To delete: click the Clear Section button and confirm the action.

Once your CRM events are mapped, TikTok’s optimization models will use these standardized signals to help improve lead quality and campaign performance.
