The TikTok Search Ads Campaign complements automatic search placement, and will not impact keyword targeting. If a search query matches a keyword associated with your account's search ad campaign, then the search ad campaign will take priority over automatic search placement.
If a search query doesn’t match a search ads campaign keyword and is still relevant to an enabled campaigns' ad creative, the automatic search placement will be eligible to capture the relevant search. In this way, your account is able to capture all relevant searches, whether from keyword targeting or automatic search placement delivery.
Suggestion: Run the Search Ads Campaign with automatic search placement to maximize your opportunity to serve your ad creative next to relevant searches. While the Search Ads Campaign will capture all searches for specific advertiser selected keywords, automatic search placement will capture the remaining searches which are relevant but may not have been included as manual keywords.
When running automatic search placement together with the Search Ads Campaign, review automatic search placement search terms report to see what remaining search opportunities may be relevant but not covered in your Search Ad Campaigns keyword set. Consider using these search terms as new keywords to target, with curated ads from a new or existing Search Ad Campaigns.
