TikTok Events Manager provides two options for adding and editing as part of your data connection setup process.
TikTok Event Builder: Allows you to configure your events and parameters via buttons or URL through a simplified visual UI without the need for manual coding.
TikTok Custom Code: Allows you to customize your events and parameter configuration and generates code for implementation
TikTok Events Manager allows you to toggle between the two setup options. Event Builder will be the setup path by default, but should you choose to go through the custom setup.
Ensure that all of your webpages have the TikTok Pixel base code installed
Make sure you have edit permissions for the pixel
If Content Security Policy is enabled on your website, review the developer documentation for additional setup recommendations
Note: Performance ad solutions as measurement tools within TikTok such as value optimization, Video Shopping Ads, and ROAS reporting may require specific event and parameter configuration. For value optimization, ensure you add 'Value' and 'Currency' to your events. For Video Shopping Ads and Catalog Management solutions, ensure you add 'Content ID' and 'Content Type' parameters to your events.
The TikTok Event Builder is a tool to setup up events and parameters on your website without coding. Event Builder can suggest events and parameters based on information on your web page. The tool analyzes your website's button text and elements to suggest relevant standard events and parameters. Additionally, you can manually add specific events by selecting buttons or URL keywords.Note: TikTok Event Builder is specifically designed for configuring events and parameters with the TikTok Pixel. If you're following TikTok best practices and leveraging both pixel and Events API together, ensure that you have the same events and parameters setup in yourAfter you create and add the TikTok Pixel base code to your site, you can leverage the Event Builder tool to configure your events. Should you need to setup events for both Pixel and Events API you can also do so via custom code. Simply select 'switch to custom code' in the TikTok Events Manager UI after the base code is installed. There are two options to configure Events via Event Builder:
Button Clicks: Measure when a specific button or element is clicked. The event builder highlights clickable buttons and elements, such as add to cart button, search field, etc. Click the button or element you would like to measure or optimize.
URL Visits: Measure when a URL with specified keyword is visited. For instance, when a user reaches a page with "/product" in the URL, you can set up the event as "ViewContent" to measure and optimize all visits to URLs with "/product" keyword. This method helps track actions on pages with consistent URL keywords, like product detail pages, order confirmation page, or thank you page after a purchase.
