Smart Fix

Built into the ad creation flow of TikTok Ads Manager, Smart Fix can notify you of potential ad review issues and offers actionable creative solutions. Smart Fix makes it easy to resolve detected issues automatically with a single click, and can give you more control over precise edits in TikTok Video Editor or Smart Text.


How to Use Smart Fix

  1. ​Select your preferred advertising objective at the campaign level.

  2. ​Create your ad group.

  3. ​At the ad level, upload your ad creatives.

  4. ​Review potential issues detected in ad analysis. If issues are detected, click Fix issues.

5. ​If issues are detected that can be solved automatically, choose a solution and click Apply to complete

6. Alternatively, if issues are detected that cannot be solved automatically, manually make edits in TikTok Video Editor based on the suggestions.

Successful changes will be indicated in green. Click Confirm to complete.

7. ​Review the added videos. If issues are no longer detected in ad analysis, continue on to complete the ad setup.

List of issues and fix options

  • Fix options: Fix with one click

  • Issues:

    • The video resolution rate is lower than 540x960px, which doesn't meet our requirements.

    • Video length is either longer than 60s or shorter than 5s, which doesn't meet our requirements.

    • Video proportions are incorrect, and/or the image contains too much blank space.

    • The ad or video has no background audio, or the background audio is incoherent/unclear.


  • Fix options: Directed to Video Editor

  • Issues:

    • The text or third-party logo in the ad image/video is covered by stickers, columns, or pixels.

    • Don't use material that was downloaded directly from TikTok. We recommend you use the original version without a TikTok watermark.

    • The ad may contain images or videos, which convey language or gestures that can be interpreted as insulting, indecent, or discriminatory.

    • The ad may contain images or videos, which convey exaggerated descriptions or absolute claims without related proof.

    • The ad may contain disturbing or shocking imagery that may cause an uncomfortable user experience.


  • Fix options: Directed to Smart Text for auto-translation

  • Issues: The ad text contains language that's not accepted in {targeting_country}.


  • Fix options: Issue detected notification only

  • Issues:

    • Ad text may contain language that can be interpreted as insulting, indecent, or discriminatory.

    • Ad text may contain exaggerated descriptions or absolute claims without related proof.

    • Ad text may contain a URL.

    • Make sure the URL is valid, and the website has been set up correctly.
