App Profile Page

An App Profile Page is a fast-loading instant page experience that helps improve the delivery performance of iOS 14 Dedicated Campaigns by acting as a bridge between TikTok and the App Store.


Here's how it works:

  1. ​When someone taps the Call To Action (CTA) button on an App Install ad, it activates the App Profile Page.

  2. ​Information about the app is automatically gathered from the App Store, like name, description, images, ranking, etc., along with a Visit App Store CTA button.

  3. ​When someone taps the Visit App Store CTA button on the App Profile Page, the App Store instantly appears, where they can download the app.

Our delivery model will collect high-intent onsite signals from App Profile Page, like clicking the download button, and use them to optimize ad delivery, performance, and conversions. App Profile Pages allow for a high degree of flexibility by letting you select which elements from the App Store you want to display and giving you the ability to customize certain components - if desired.


Availability

You can only use App Profile Pages in new campaigns created with the following settings:

  • Supported Advertising Objective: App Promotion.

  • ​Campaign Type: iOS 14 Dedicated Campaign.

  • Split Test: Supported, but an App Profile Page cannot be the testing variable.

  • App OS: iOS.

  • ​Placement: Available placement depends on the product status.

    • ​TikTok only OR Pangle only OR Auto-placement if optimizing Merchant Acquisition and Incubation;

    • ​TikTok only if optimizing App Event Optimization (Ads system will launch regular Dedicated Campaign without App Profile Page on Pangle if selecting auto-placement).

  • ​Bid Strategy: Lowest Cost, Cost Cap.

  • Optimization Goals: Install, In-app event (App Event Optimization).

  • ​Bid Strategy: Available bid strategy depends on the optimization goal.

    • ​TikTok

      • App Install: Lowest Cost, Cost Cap.

      • In-app event: Lowest Cost.

    • Pangle

      • App Install: Lowest Cost.


Instructions

To Create a Campaign and Ad Group

  1. ​Log in to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. ​Create a new campaign.

  3. ​Select the App Promotion Advertising Objective.

  4. ​Under Promotion Type, select an iOS App.

  5. ​Ensure the iOS 14 Dedicated Campaign toggle is on and check Use app profile page to optimize delivery.

  6. ​Under Placement, we recommend selecting TikTok only placement when optimizing AEO as other placements will show regular DC ads.

  7. ​Complete the rest of the ad group selections and click Next.

To Create a New App Profile Page

  1. ​From the Ad creation page, go to the Destination Page module.

  2. ​Under App Profile, click +Create to open the App Profile Page Editor.

  3. ​From the App Profile Page Editor.

  4. ​Write a name for the App Profile, then create the Header and App Information sections of your App Profile.

  5. ​In the Header section:

  • ​The App field will be automatically filled in with the iOS app you selected under your ad group's Promotion Type. You cannot edit this field.

    • ​The Targeting Location will be the location you selected in the ad group. You cannot edit this field.

  • ​Select the page language from the drop-down menu. The language should match the acceptable language in the locations your ad group is targeting.

  • ​Enable the Highlights toggle to display elements about your app in the Header section. Choose up to three elements from Rating, Ranking, Reviews, App Genres/Category, Developer Name, and App Package Size.

6. ​In the App Information section

  • ​Under App Image, you need to feature at least two images showcasing your app. You can use the images synced from the App Store or upload your own.

  • ​Under App Description, you will need to add a description of the app you're promoting. The App Description will automatically sync the description from the App Store, which you are free to edit and re-write as you see fit.

  • ​Enable the App Information toggle to display elements about your app in the Information section. Choose up to three elements from Rating, Ranking, Reviews, App Genres/Category, Developer Name, and App Package Size.

7. Click Save to save a draft of your App Profile Page, or click Complete if you want to use the App Profile page in your ad.

8. ​Then finish building your ad and click Submit when you are ready to publish.

Note: App Profile Pages are subject to review and must comply with our ad creative and industry policies.

To Select an Existing App Profile Page

  1. ​From the Ad creation page, go to the Destination Page module.

  2. ​Under App Profile, click +From Library to open the Instant Page Library.

  3. ​To use a completed App Profile Page, select an App Profile Page where the status is Ready, and click Confirm.

  4. ​To continue working on a saved draft, hover your mouse over the App Profile Page where the Status is Draft and click Edit.

  5. ​To copy a completed App Profile Page, hover your mouse over an App Profile Page where the Status is Ready and click Copy. This will open the App Profile Page Editor, where you can rename the App Profile Page and or edit the Header and App Information - if desired.

Recommendations

  • ​Set your Daily or Lifetime Budget to at least 20 times your estimated cost per installation to ensure you have enough budget to pass the learning phase.

  • ​Try to start your campaign with a broad audience.

What is the difference between TikTok App Profile Page and Pangle App Profile Page?

In general, Pangle App Profile Page is in line with TikTok, including product logic, ML mechanism, feature design, etc. But there are also some minor differences specified below.
