Smart Creative is a TikTok automated creative solution that optimizes ad creative combinations through ad group fatigue detection and auto-refresh strategies. This feature reduces ad fatigue, prolongs ad group lifespan, and improves cost efficiency over time.
Note: Select advertisers may see a new version of this solution called Automate Creative, to be rolled out over time.
Smart Creative works in three steps:
Creative asset combination combines videos / images, text and call-to-action to create multiple variations of ads.
Creative selection initially prioritizes the delivery of the most differentiated videos as assessed by scene similarity, and observes their performance for 3-5 days, allocating no more than 10% of the ad group's total budget.
Anti-creative fatigue refresh pause initial videos that show signs of fatigue within the first 3-5 days and put new videos on the waiting list to replace them, ensuring that budget is always allocated to the un-fatigued videos and improving the ad group's performance.
You can also choose to turn off Smart Creative generated creatives in your Ads Manager at any time.

Automate Creative is an advertising optimization product that offers one-click campaign optimization.
Note: Automate Creative is available for select customers and replaces Smart Creative. Currently, Automate Creative is only available for non-Spark ads and pull Spark ads.
In addition to the features of Smart Creative, Automate Creative includes a set of advanced creative AI features that can help you to create and optimize creative assets. These optional creative AI features include:
Quality enhancement: Improve overall visual quality through increased resolution and more.
Music enhancement: Optimize background music by recommending and swapping from the Commercial Music Library.
Image resize: Resize current image to take advantage of full screenwidth capabilities.
In TikTok Ads Manager's campaign creation process, after completing ad group settings, find Ad details.
Under Ad creative, toggle on Automate Creative.
Note: Automate Creative is available for select customers and supports the same placements, ad formats, and ad objectives as Smart Creative shown in the "Availability" section above.
Customize your optimization settings by selecting the optimization features.
You can see optimization features for either video, image, or both in the pop-up drawer depending on the type of your creative assets.
Complete your customization by clicking the Confirm button.
