How to add assets to the TikTok Video Editor

마지막 업데이트: February 2025

Once you access the TikTok Video Editor, you will need to add your assets to the editor, and then arrange and layer them on the timeline to create your final video. In this context, assets refer to the footage, images, and music that you use to create your video.

Before you begin

  • Learn how to access the TikTok Video Editor.

  • The order of your media tracks is essential. The top most media track will be displayed in front, while the bottom track is displayed at the back.

How to add assets to the TikTok Video Editor

  1. Select the Film icon on the top menu.

  2. Click New Uploads to upload new images or videos.

  3. Click Assets to select them from your account's asset library.

  4. Drag and drop or click the plus icon to add footage to the timeline to create a media track. The media track will help you organize and track your footage, text, and music.

How to arrange assets on the timeline

  1. After creating the media tracks in your video's timeline, you may want to arrange the footage, trim and cut your content, or create a new media track.

  2. Use your mouse to drag and drop each media track into your desired location on your video's timeline. Reference the time code shown at the top of the timeline to identify the location of your media track.

After you have assembled and edited your video, you can preview the video as it will appear on the TikTok feed or without any TikTok UI elements. Toggle the Masking button to disable the UI overlay from the preview pane.

Click Confirm when you are ready to create your video.

Note: TikTok Video Editor can support up to 30 media tracks per video.
