How to avoid suspicious behaviors in auctions

We recommend adhering to the following best practices when you run auction ads on TikTok Ads Manager to ensure a smooth, continuous ad delivery experience. If you use ad-buying practices that are divergent from the suggestions, it could result in a system flag, potentially resulting in delivery suspension or even account ban.

How to avoid suspicious behaviors in auctions

For bidding:

  • Suggest a bid no greater than 5 times your historical Cost per Result under similar targeting settings. For example, if your historical CPC is $1, then you are suggested to bid at most $5 for a CPC ad group.

  • We do not recommend increasing your bid by more than 5 times the original bidding price at the beginning of the day, during delivery. For example, if one of your ad groups starts a day with $1/click, then you are suggested to increase it to at most $5/click within the same day.

For budget:

  • When you create with Cost Cap as the bid strategy, the budget should be reasonable in relation to the bid.

  • On the ad group level, the daily budget should be no smaller than 20 times the bid.

  • On the ad group level, the lifetime budget should be no smaller than 20 times the bid, times the campaign duration. For example, a 1 USD bid with a duration of 30 days should be no smaller than a 20*1*30 = $600 lifetime budget.

  • On the campaign level, the budget should be equal to the total budget for all ad groups under the campaign. The campaign budget must be equal or greater than 10% of the total budget for all ad groups under this campaign. For a total ad group budget of 1000 USD, the campaign budget should be greater than or equal to 100 USD.

  • During delivery, we do not recommend making frequent changes to your campaign budget mode or the budget of your ad group(s) or campaign(s).

For account balance:

  • We suggest maintaining no less than 10% of the total unspent budget of all active ad groups in your account's balance.

  • For daily budget, the account balance needs to be no less than 10% of the total unspent budget of all active ad groups in your account.

  • Lifetime budget will be calculated based on the unspent lifetime budget divided by the campaign budget. For example, if the campaign duration is 30 days, and the total unspent lifetime budget is 3,000 USD, then we regard the daily budget as 100 USD.

  • We do not recommend frequently withdrawing large amounts or making recharges of small amounts within a day.
