How to request a refund for ad accounts with a Business Center

Last updated: September 2024

If you use manual payment or automatic payment add balance, you can request a refund of your unspent account balance, excluding taxes paid. If you complete the refund process, your ad account will be closed. Note: While this is a self-serve method for refunds, if you have a TikTok sales representative, you may reach out to that person for refund support.

Before you begin

Use the following steps to determine if your ad account(s) selected for refund belongs to any Business Center:

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager as the owner of the ad account.

  2. Navigate to the left header bar and select Tools and in the Settings section click Account setup.

  3. Find the Permission management module on the left.

  4. If the ad account belongs to a Business Center, you will see a section telling you that your "ad account belongs to a Business Center" or see a listed Business Center associated with your ad account. Otherwise, it does not belong to a Business Center and thus you must request a refund for an ad account without a Business Center.

Transferring ad account balance

Instead of requesting a refund, you can transfer the ad account balance to the Business Center to which it belongs, so that you can use the balance across other ad accounts. See how you can adjust the balance for your ad accounts on the Payment Management page.

How to request a refund if your ad account belongs to a Business Center

If you prefer a refund instead of transferring the balance to other ad accounts owned by the Business Center, you will need to close all ad accounts associated with the Business Center. To begin this process, contact your TikTok sales representative to initiate your refund. The refund will be automatically issued to the original payment method on file. Contact your sales representatives or submit a customer support ticket if you haven't received your refund within the timeframe.

Note: If you are not able to reach out to a sales representative or are not assigned to one, create a customer support ticket to contact us. Provide your ad account ID and Business Center ID when you contact us.
