Thailand: About Value Added Tax (VAT)

Last updated: March 2025

Taxes may be applicable to your purchase of TikTok Ads depending on the market or region of your "billing address", unless otherwise agreed.

TikTok is responsible for determining, collecting, and remitting 7% Value Added Tax (VAT) on the supply of TikTok Ads in Thailand. 7% VAT will be added to your purchase if you are not a Thai VAT registrant or TikTok does not receive your valid VAT Identification Number (VAT ID). This change affects the customers whose billing country for the TikTok Ads Manager account is set to Thailand.

If you are registered for VAT in Thailand

Go to your TikTok Ads Manager account setup to enter your valid VAT ID into the Tax ID field and ensure that the VAT ID can be verified against the official database of Thai Revenue Department through the link https://vsreg.rd.go.th/VATINFOWSWeb/jsp/V001.jsp. The format of VAT ID should be a 13-digit number.

If you do not provide a valid VAT ID, TikTok will treat you as non-VAT registrant and add 7% VAT to your purchase until we receive your valid VAT ID through TikTok Ads Manager account setup.

If you are not registered for VAT in Thailand

Leave the Tax ID field of TikTok Ads Manager account setup blank. TikTok will treat you as a non-VAT registrant and add 7% VAT to your purchase.

Note: TikTok is unable to advise you on tax matters. Please contact your tax advisor or your local tax authorities for any tax questions that you may have in relation to your Ad purchase.
