Mexico: About Value Added Tax (VAT)

Last updated: March 2025

Taxes may be applicable to your purchase of TikTok Ads depending on the market or region of your "billing address", unless otherwise agreed.

If you are purchasing ads in Mexico, your invoices will be issued by TikTok Mexico Tecnología S. de R.L. de C.V.

In order to be compliant with the Law of Mexico, TikTok must collect your Tax ID to determine what taxes are applicable.

For self-serve clients only:

  • Per local regulation, your ad purchase will be subject to a Value Added Tax (VAT) of 16% according to Mexican tax regulations.

  • In the event that the tax information provided by you is not valid or accurate, tax invoices corresponding to the services rendered to you will be issued to the "General Public" using the Tax ID (RFC for its acronym in Spanish) provided by the tax provisions in force.

Learn more details at The Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT).

Note: TikTok is unable to advise you on tax matters. Please contact your tax advisor or your local tax authorities for any tax questions that you may have in relation to your Ad purchase.
