How to add captions from manual input with TikTok Video Editor

  1. Enter TikTok Video Editor within TikTok Ads Manager. Learn how to access TikTok Video Editor.

  2. Click the Narration tab.

  3. If your video has no detectable voiceover, you will see the Add Script button. Click Add Script and input your narration text.

  4. Turn on the Caption toggle. The system will automatically sentence-break and line-break your script, generating subtitles that match the duration of your video.

  5. Choose the subtitle language (options include generating subtitles in the original language or translating them into other languages).

  6. Click Generate captions and wait about one minute for the subtitles to be generated.

  7. Click on the subtitles and a subtitle settings panel will appear on the right side of the screen where you can adjust the subtitle content, font, color, alignment, and more.


How to generate captions automatically with TikTok Video Editor

  1. Enter TikTok Video Editor within TikTok Ads Manager. Learn how to access TikTok Video Editor.

  2. Click the Narration tab.

  3. If your video has a detectable voiceover, you will see a Caption dropdown menu.

  4. Click the dropdown menu under Caption, select the language that you want to generate in.

  5. Click the Generate button and the system will generate captions in the selected language based on the existing voiceover audio.
