What is a TikTok Pixel?

The pixel is a small piece of code that you place on your website to help you find new customers, optimize your campaigns and measure ad performance. With the pixel, you can track website visitor actions, like view page or purchase, and create audience segments to re-engage previous site visitors or model lookalikes to find new customers.

To learn more, refer to About TikTok Pixel.

Can I share my pixel with another ad account?

Currently, the TikTok Pixel can not be used across two ad accounts. We are continuously working on improving the TikTok Pixel functionality and features. Please stay tuned to our TikTok For Business website and TikTok Ads Manager dashboard for future updates.

How can I add a pixel to my ad?

You may add a pixel to your ad during the ad group creation process while setting up your campaign. TikTok Pixel is only available for the Traffic and Conversions objectives.

For the Traffic objective, under Promotion Type, click on the Website option. Then click on Use TikTok pixel to track your website. Using a pixel for this objective is optional, but highly recommended.

For the Conversions objective, under Promotion Type, you can directly select or create a new pixel along with your optimization event. A pixel is required for using this objective.

How can I edit my pixel?

You can make changes to your Pixel by editing events, adding new ones, redefining your event triggers, or changing the pages on your website where the pixel is installed. You can also delete a pixel from Events Manager, if it is not used by any ad groups.

How can I create a TikTok Pixel for a Wix website?

To start using the TikTok pixel with your Wix website, create a pixel in TikTok Ads Events Manager, choose the manual installation setup and select the Standard Mode pixel. You'll need to implement the pixel base code in Wix as custom code and once implemented, set up your events in TikTok Ads Events Manager.

How can I find my pixel?

On TikTok Ads Manager, click Assets, click Events, and then under Website Pixel, click Manage. From this page, you will be able to view all of your account's pixels.

How can I find my app's tracking links?

Why can't I see any event data?

This can happen when you have installed the TikTok Pixel but haven't set up any events. To create events, access your TikTok Pixel from the Event Manager and set up the events you wish to track with the TikTok Pixel.

To learn more, refer to Create Events.

Why can't I see any conversion data?

It may be because you haven't defined your event rules properly. Defining the rules for your events will determine the actions someone needs to complete on your site to record an event.

To learn more, refer to Create Events.

Is it possible to add data from Facebook pixel?

As TikTok and Facebook work independently at this time, it is not possible to add data from Facebook. However, we recommend that you refer to your data on other advertising platforms, such as Facebook or Google, so that you can maintain the competitiveness of your ads.

Why isn't my pixel recording events after I installed it on my website?

In order for the Pixel to work once it is installed, you still need to create events and set up tracking rules for each event on the Ads Manager. To do that:

  1. After you create a pixel, click Next to get to the Create Event page.

  2. Create your events following the steps you can refer to in Create Events.

After that, you will need to define event rules using tracking methods.

Why isn't my campaign generating any conversions?

There may be many reasons for this, but the first thing that you will want to check is that your TikTok Pixel was installed correctly on your website. Use the TikTok Pixel Helper to see if the TikTok Pixel is detected on your site.

To learn more, refer to About TikTok Pixel Helper 2.0.
