Best practices for ad reviews

Last updated: July 2024

As an advertiser on TikTok, you'll be responsible for your ads. This means complying with all applicable laws, rules and regulations that apply.

The following best practices will help you comply with TikTok Ad policy:

  • Language: Ensure language in your ad creative and copy are accepted in your target location(s). Remove any symbols, incorrect spelling, or gimmicky use of spelling in your display name.

  • Actions: Avoid advising users to take actions that aren't supported on the app, such as swiping up or displaying a mouse cursor.

  • Media: Make sure you're using high quality media that meets our image specifications and video specifications. Clear audio is required for video ads.

  • Consistency: Ensure that your ad creative and display name are consistent with your landing page. Any products featured in an ad should be shown on your landing page.

  • Authorized Use: Avoid using any elements without required permission in both your ad and your landing page. For example, brands, hashtags, copyrighted media, imitations and replicas.

Note: This is not a comprehensive list of disapproval reasons or suggested actions.
