Best Practices for Audience Insights

Audience Insights are based on all paid and organic TikTok data. When you use audience insights, you'll be able to explore user interests, behaviors, and demographics to maximize results. You'll have a range of filters to view audience information or to select a TikTok custom audience.

We've put together a list of recommendations and tips to help you get the most out of your audience insights on TikTok Ads Manager.

Targeting

  • Audience validation: Using the Overview tab, view the high-level snapshot of your audience. See their demographics, behaviors, and interests to get a quick understanding of your audience.

  • Target top 10 hashtags or top interest categories: Using the Interests tab, view the top 10 hashtags your audience resonates with and what their top ad interest categories are. Consider incorporating these hashtags or interests when targeting in a campaign.

  • Experiment with audiences outside of your traditional target: Audience insights helps you discover non-traditional target audiences. If any surprising or unexpected interest categories appear, experiment by targeting these interest categories to see how they perform.


Creative Content

  • Highlight themes: Use interest category information to highlight specific themes in your creative. These themes may resonate with your audience the most. Avoid the bottom 10 interest categories as themes in your creative.

  • Amplify your video content: Include the top 10 hashtags when posting a video to get your content in front of your desired audience.
