The Bulk Import & Export feature is a great way to quickly edit large numbers of ads at once. To do this, advertisers can export their ad settings in a spreadsheet and bulk edit their ads as they would on the platform.
The following editing scenarios are supported by the Bulk Import feature:
At the Campaign Level: Campaign Name, Campaign Budget
At the Ad Group Level: Ad group Name, Targeting (Audience, Gender, Age), Delivery Schedule, Bid, and Budget
At the Ad Level: Ad Name, Ad text, Profile image, and new Creative.
For a brief overview on how to edit ads in bulk, watch the video below.
For more information about what fields can be modified please see Index of Bulk Import & Export Template.
Export your ads, edit your ad settings in a spreadsheet, and upload your file to TikTok Ads Manager.
Go to the Campaign tab.
Select the Campaigns, Ad Groups, or Ads you want to edit.
Click the Bulk create/Edit button.
Click the Export Ads icon.
After you have exported your ads into a spreadsheet, you will then need to make the desired changes to the ad settings. When editing your ads do not edit your Campaign Id, Ad Group Id, or Ad Id fields. The system uses these IDs to identify your ads and it will be unable to edit your ads if these fields are changed. Additionally, when editing your ads, you need to make sure that you do not delete any required fields, as this will cause your file to fail to import successfully.
Note: Do not delete any columns or adjust the headers of your exported file as it will be unable to import properly.
Go to the Campaign tab.
Click the Bulk Feature Icon next to the Create button.
Click the Import Ads Icon.
Upload CSV or Excel File.
Now that we've covered the basic instructions for editing your ad settings using the Bulk Import feature, let's review some editing common scenarios.
Find the Ad Group Budget Amount column and fill in the new budget.
Leave all other fields unchanged.
Go to the Audience List sheet, find your desired custom audience, then copy its Audience ID.
Find the Include audience ID or Exclude audience ID column in the file, and paste the relevant Audience ID into either column.
Leave all other fields unchanged.
In TikTok Ads Manager, go to the Assets tab and click Creatives.
Upload your creative or select an existing asset and note the filename.
Find the creatives you want to modify on your spreadsheet.
Find the Video Name or Image Name column on your exported spreadsheet, and replace the current entry with your new creative filename.
Leave all other fields unchanged.
In TikTok Ads Manager, go to the Assets tab and click Creatives.
Upload your creative or select an existing asset and note the filename.
Check which ad groups you want to modify.
Find the Auto Ad - Video Name or Auto Ad - Image Name column in the file, and only replace the filename of the creative you want to modify in this cell.
In TikTok Ads Manager, go to the Assets tab and click Creatives.
Upload your creative or select an existing asset and note the filename.
Confirm which ad groups you want to add new creatives to.
Copy the row of the target ad group you wish to add the new creative to. For example, if you want to add 5 pieces of creative to an ad group, copy that row 5 times.
Delete the Ad Id for the newly copied rows. Do not delete this information in other rows.
Find the Video Name or Image Name column in your exported spreadsheet, and enter the corresponding creative filename in the newly copied cell.
Note: You may want to adjust the Text and Call to Action columns to reflect your new creative, otherwise they will display whatever was copied from step 3.
Upload your creative to your Creative - Assets on TikTok Ads Manager - or select an existing asset - note the filename.
Confirm which ACO-enabled ad groups you want to add your new creatives.
Find the Auto Ad - Video Name or Auto Ad - Image Name column in the file, and add the filename of the creative you wish to add to the ad group - separating each filename with a line break.
Leave all other fields unchanged.
