How to create a Shop Activity Audience in TikTok Ads Manager

You can use the Shop Activity audience to show your TikTok Shop Ads to people who have previously interacted with your TikTok Shop.

Before you begin

To create a Shop Activity audience, you'll need to:

  • Set up a TikTok Shop

  • Have TikTok Shop access to the desired shop

  • Ad Account access to the advertising account that you wish to run the audience on



How to create a Shop Activity Audience in TikTok Ads Manager

To create a Shop Activity audience:

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager.

  2. Go to Tools and click Audience manager.

  3. Click Create Audience and choose Custom Audience.

  4. Click Shop Activity.

  5. Add rules for your audience. Use the Include section to add rules that show ads to people who take certain actions. Use the Exclude section to prevent any ads from reaching people that take certain actions. Choose if you want these actions to take place in the last 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. You can choose the following actions:

    • Product Details Page view: When someone clicks on an ad to view your product details page.

    • Add to Cart: When someone adds an item to their shopping cart in your TikTok Shop.

    • Initiate Checkout: When someone begins the checkout process.

    • Complete Payment: When someone successfully completes a payment.

  6. Click +Add rule to include more people who took additional actions. Choose Broaden audience to include people who match any of your rules. Choose Narrow audience to only include people who match all of your rules. Click Delete to remove any of your rules.

  7. Click +Exclude more to exclude more people who took additional actions. Click Delete to remove any of your rules.

  8. Name your audience and choose your audience settings. You can choose the following:

    • Autorefresh (recommended): Refresh your audience automatically to keep your audience fresh and relevant. Learn more about autorefresh.

    • Audience enhancement: Increase total matched audience size by adding more users identified by our machine learning model.

    • Reach & Frequency: Allow your audience to be used for Reach & Frequency campaigns. Learn more about Reach & Frequency.

  9. When you're finished, click Confirm.


Your Shop Activity audience will appear in the Audience Manager page in TikTok Ads Manager. You can create a Lookalike Audience based on your Shop Activity audience to reach more people who are similar to your customers.
