For partners (agencies) - request access to TikTok Shop from Business Center
Last updated, March 2024

Requesting TikTok Shop access is a feature that simplifies the process of partners (like agencies) requesting access to a TikTok Shop. Business Center admins can request access to TikTok Shops directly from TikTok Business Center, and TikTok Shop teams (owner, main admins, or advertising managers) can give access to their TikTok Shop directly from an invitation link or Seller Center.

To learn more, refer to Add TikTok Shop from Business Center.

    • With TikTok Shop, TikTok offers a fully native shopping experience where product discovery, product detail pages, product management, purchases, billing, shipping, and returns are powered by the TikTok Seller Center.

    • Customers can discover products from sellers' accounts or creators' accounts via Livestream, Video content, and Showcase (shoppable tab in the TikTok account profile), and can enjoy seamless shopping experiences within the TikTok App.

    • To get started with TikTok Shop, you will need to set up your shop on https://seller.tiktok.com/

Benefits

This feature helps organizations and agencies activate and manage Shop Ads more efficiently by actively applying for required access to a TikTok Shop.

  • Quickly request access to TikTok Shops.

  • Give their members and partners of their Business Centers permission to create ads promoting products from the TikTok Shop.

Best Practices

To best ensure the security of your account, we strongly suggest companies NOT add any users outside of their company to their Business Center. Instead, we recommend people request access to your TikTok Shop individually.

Use Cases

Requesting TikTok Shop access is ideal in situations where multiple organizations are involved in TikTok Shop promotions.

Scenario

Problem

Solution

Brand and Agency collaboration

- Brand A manages orders and products in their TikTok Shop via in-house teams.

- Brand A outsources the ad buying to promote their TikTok Shop to multiple e-commerce agencies, including agency B, agency C, and agency D.

- Clients at Brand A are not familiar with how to grant agency B, C, and D access to their TikTok Shop.

- The three agencies risk delaying campaign setup and go-live as they did not receive ad promotion access to the TikTok Shop.

- The three agencies can initiate a request to access Brand A's TikTok Shop directly from the Business Center. To do this, they can send an email or share an invitation link with Brand A to grant access to their TikTok Shop.

- Once Brand A approves their request, the three agencies can allocate access to their own team members to use this TikTok Shop in shopping ads.

Brand fully outsources TikTok ShopE2E management to one or more agencies

- Brand B fully authorizes Media Agency D to use its TikTok Shop to initiate, run, and optimize shopping ads on their behalf.

- However, Brand B does not have resources such as dedicated in-house teams, and wish to minimize workload as it is outsourced to agency D.

- The agency requires ad promotion access to this TikTok Shop in order to set up Shopping Ads.

- However, Brand B did not set up a Business Center for this.

- Meanwhile, clients at Brand B wish to retain ownership of this TikTok Shop as company property, but they want to minimize the effort required to do so, and refuse to work on any ad promotion that falls under the agency scope.

- Agency D can initiate a request from the Business Center to receive ad promotion permission for this TikTok Shop.

- Clients at Brand B can simply create a Business Center to host all their properties as they approve the request without the need for a complex setup.

How to setup

There are four (4) steps that you will take to request access to one or more TikTok Shops from within the Business Center.

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have admin access to the Business Center that you choose to request TikTok Shop access to.

  • Depending on the shop's location:

    • Cross-border, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam: Business Center admins can immediately request shop access.

  • To ensure security and accountability, we strongly suggest companies NOT add any users outside of your company to the Business Center as individual members.

  • If there are any individuals or teams outside of your company who need access to TikTok Shop, they will need to personally initiate a request.

Step 1: Request TikTok Shop Access from Business Center

  1. Log into Business Center and click Shops under Assets on the left sidebar.

  2. Click Add Shop to request access to one or more TikTok Shops.

    • If you have already added TikTok Shops to your Business Center, click Add Shop in the upper left.

    • If you have not added any TikTok Shops to your Business Center, click Add TikTok Shop on the welcome page.

  3. In the pop-up, paste the TikTok Shop code and click Request

    • Note: The TikTok Shop Code is found on the TikTok Seller Center. Go to My Account, select Seller profile, and click Seller information.

  4. Upon seeing the confirmation page, choose OK to finish, or Copy to send the link to the seller for faster approval.

  5. Once sent, the TikTok Shop will receive an email notification containing an attached link to approve the request to access the TikTok Shop.

Note: You can initiate up to 20 requests per day from the same Business Center.

Step 2: Resend request from Business Center (when necessary)

If you have submitted a TikTok Shop access request, but it is not yet approved, it will be labeled with a Pending approval tag in the Business Center.

After you request access the first time, you can resend another request.

  1. In Business Center, click Shops under Assets on the left sidebar.

  2. Select the shop that is listed as Pending approval.

  3. Click Resend Request link found in the alert.

  4. To resend the request for approval via email, click Resend.

    • Alternatively, you can share the approval URL directly with the TikTok Shop. Click Copy and share the URL manually.

Step 3: Seller Approves Request in Seller Center

Once someone from the TikTok Shop team receives an access request via email or invitation link, they can approve the request directly from the link or in the Seller Center. There are four (4) different scenarios that can occur.

To begin using this feature, you can create an Agency Business Center, select the agency business type, and complete the process to create your own Business Center.

If the same Business Center uses the "Add My TikTok Shop" method AND at the same time uses "Request Access To Other's TikTok Shop" method to request access to the same TikTok Shop, what happens?

  • If the TikTok Shop successfully accepts the request using "Add My TikTok Shop" method first, then the "Request Access To Other's TikTok Shop" method's request will automatically expire.

  • If the TikTok Shop successfully accepts the request using "Request Access To Other's TikTok Shop" method first, then the "Add My TikTok Shop" method's request will automatically expire.

  • If the TikTok Shop has not accepted any of the above 2 requests, then both "Add My TikTok Shop" method's request and "Request Access To Other's TikTok Shop" method's request will continue to be valid.
