How to set up TikTok on Shopify

When you install the TikTok App on Shopify, you need to set up your Marketing Settings. You will be unable to access certain features on the TikTok app, like creating Conversion Ads.Read our TikTok for Shopify user guide for instructions to set up TikTok Shop via Shopify.

How to set up TikTok on Shopify

To set up TikTok on Shopify:

  1. Login to your Shopify store's admin.

  2. Click TikTok under Sales Channel.

  3. Connect or create a new:

    • TikTok for Business account: This will allow you to access all your business accounts in one place.

    • Business Center account: This will allow you to manage non-ad account assets like Pixel, Catalog, permissions, payments, and other key business management activities in one place.

    • TikTok Ads Manager: This is your advertising account where you can create TikTok ads campaigns.

  4. Choose your level of data sharing: Standard, Enhanced, or Maximum.

  5. Click Create Pixel to create and install a new pixel, or select an existing pixel to connect to from the dropdown.

  6. Click Set Up and provide details about your business location in the Company Information section.

  7. Click Confirm.


The TikTok Catalog allows you to store and manage information about your products. You will use Catalog to create ads like Video Shopping Ads.


After you set up TikTok on Shopify and connect your Business Center, the catalog setup process will begin automatically. TikTok will create a marketing catalog using the primary market defined by the Shopify store settings. Once your catalog is created, it will be owned and accessible to you through the connected Business Center.


To check the setup status of your catalog:

  1. Go to the TikTok app on Shopify.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Click Product Catalog.

You'll be able to see the Product Status on the TikTok App on Shopify to understand which products are approved, pending, or disapproved.
