About TikTok Placement

Placements are required ad group selections that define where your ads will run. The TikTok placement option is available within TikToks Ads Manager when creating an ad group. When you create an ad group, you are able to choose where you want your ads to appear. We call the places where your ads show placements.


When you select TikTok placement, your ads may appear across TikTok in the following areas:

  • For You Feed - When selecting "For You", your ads may also appear in the following placements:

    • Profile Feed

    • Following Feed

    • TikTok Lite

    • TikTok for Web

  • Search Feed

  • Search Results Page

    • Only for Sales, Sales > Website conversions, Lead generation, Traffic, and App promotion

  • TikTok Lite (Japan & Korea only)

  • Lemon8 (Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia)


TikTok placement supports the following advertising objectives:

  • Shop Purchases

  • Sales

  • Video Views

  • Reach

  • Traffic

  • Lead Generation

  • App Installs

  • Conversion


TikTok placement supports the following bidding methods:

  • CPM (Cost per Thousand Impressions)

  • oCPM (Optimized Cost per Thousand Impressions)

  • CPC (Cost per Click)
