The four automatic messages available for Business Accounts in Business Suite within the TikTok app include:
Welcome message
Suggested questions
Keyword reply
Chat prompts
Each automatic message is set up differently, but are all enabled with the same steps.
You must toggle on automatic messages before setting up automatic messages.
Go to the TikTok app.
Log into your account.
Go to your Profile.
Tap the menu icon on the top-right corner.
Tap Business suite.
Select Message center.
Toggle on Welcome message, Keyword reply, Suggested questions, and Chat prompts.
Note: Receive messages from Everyone in Settings and privacy needs to be toggled on to access Automatic Message features. You will be prompted to toggle the settings if it is not already turned on.
Go to your Profile.
Tap the menu icon on the top-right corner.
Tap Business suite.
Tap Message center.
Tap Welcome message.
Toggle on Welcome message.
Add the message text.
Note: Welcome messages have a maximum of 250 characters.
Click Submit to send your welcome message in for moderation review.
Go to your Profile.
Tap the menu icon on the top-right corner.
Tap Business suite.
Tap Message center.
Tap Keyword reply.
Toggle on Keyword reply.
Tap Create new.
Enter your keywords and associated replies.
Note: All keywords have a maximum of 40 characters and replies have a maximum of 500 characters.
Click Submit to send your keywords in for moderation review.
Go to your Profile.
Tap the menu icon on the top-right corner.
Tap Business suite.
Tap Message center.
Tap Suggested questions.
Toggle on Suggested questions.
Tap Create new or select one of the default question options.
Add your question and answer.
Note: Questions are limited to 80 characters and answers are limited to 200 characters.
Click Submit to send your questions and answers in for moderation review.
Go to your Profile.
Tap the menu icon on the top-right corner.
Tap Business suite.
Tap Message center.
Tap Chat prompts.
Toggle on chat prompts.
Tap Add new.
Enter your prompt name and prompt message.
Select Submit to submit for moderation review.
After submitting an automatic message, you'll get an in-app notification on the status of your approval within 1-5 business days. The status can also be checked by going to the Message Center page within Business Suite.
During the approval process edits to your message can not be made. Making edits to your messaging will require your message to go through the approval process again.
