Review Products with Enhanced Catalog Review System
Last updated, December 2023

To help us review your catalog's products in a timely way, TikTok Catalog uses an optimization system called Enhanced Catalog Review (ECR) that evaluates your product availability to determine how it prioritizes products for review.

This article explains what ECR is about and tips on how to optimize your catalog with ECR.

What is ECR?

ECR allows for more products to become Available for ad delivery at a quicker speed. This enables you to publish your advertising campaign immediately after uploading your products into your Catalog, without losing momentum.

How do I check the ECR status of my catalog?

  1. If your catalog is newly created, ECR is automatically enabled to your catalog by default. No further action is required.

  2. If a notification prompt appears on your TikTok Catalog Manager, this means that the number of available products in your catalog falls below a certain threshold of your total products, automatically disabling ECR from your catalog.

How can I enable ECR for my catalog?

To enable ECR for your catalog, resolve Unavailable products that have issues in your catalog with the diagnostic dashboard, and check whether the newly updated products follow ad policy to reduce unavailable issues. Having minimal product issues or disapprovals allows for a wider selection of items to be delivered and showcased to audiences, maximizing the potential of your catalog.

Best practices

We recommend monitoring your catalogs actively to ensure that products are refreshed on a daily basis. This keeps your product information consistent and up-to-date in both your catalog and website from any changes in prices or availability, providing an optimal experience for users.

If you are syncing your products using the Data Feed Schedule method and have been inactive for a period of time, we encourage performing a manual refresh of the products in your Catalog before running any advertising campaigns to ensure that the most up-to-date product information is reflected. To do this:

  1. Open Catalog Manager.

  2. Click the Product Sources tab.

  3. Click Request Data Now and enter any password required to connect to your feed.

Once you complete this action, your catalog will sync the latest product information from your feed source to your catalog.
