How to create Video Shopping Ads (for TikTok Shop)

The Video Shopping Ads feature is already available to all TikTok Shops.


There are three ways you can connect your TikTok Shop to an Ad Account for advertising purposes:

  1. In Seller Center, connect one or multiple Ad Accounts for advertising purposes. For steps, refer to How to Set Up Shop Ads in Seller Center.

  2. Or in the Business Center, request access to one or multiple TikTok Shops for advertising purposes. For steps, refer to Requesting TikTok Shop Access from Business Center.

  3. Or in Ads Manager, link a TikTok Account with Showcase permission authorized. For the steps, refer to How to get Showcase permission.


About Video Shopping Ads

The Video Shopping Ads feature allows you to make your TikTok in-feed video ads shoppable. When people on TikTok see your Video Shopping Ad, they can browse products on your TikTok Shop by tapping the Product anchor link or card and then buy them in your shop.


How to Create a Video Shopping Ads Campaign

To create Video Shopping Ads, you must already have a TikTok Shop or Showcase. For more information, refer to TikTok Shop and Showcase. Once it's set up, follow the steps below to create a Video Shopping Ads campaign. You do not need to implement pixel.


Step 1. Create a New Campaign

Go to TikTok Ads Manager and start a new Campaign.

  • From the Campaign creation page, select Product Sales as the objective.

  • Select TikTok Shop as the Product Source, then complete the campaign settings.

Step 2. Set Up an Ad Group

  • Choose Video Shopping Ads as the ad type.

  • The Video Shopping Ads feature only supports TikTok Placement.

  • For Targeting, ensure that your Age selection is set to 18+.

  • The following full-funnel optimization goal options are available:

    • Gross Revenue

    • Purchase

    • Initiate Checkout

    • Click

  • The following bidding options are available:

    • Highest value / lowest cost

    • Set minimum ROAS / cost cap

  • Complete the rest of the Ad Group settings, then click Next.


Step 3. Create Your Ads

  • Select the Identity – a TikTok account (your own or other creators) to represent your business in your ad. For the steps, refer to How to Manage TikTok Accounts.

  • Select the product(s) you want to promote. You can add up to 20 products to your ad. Make sure each product is active and in stock in your shop.

  • Once a product is selected, the ad landing page will be automatically generated for preview.

  • Select a TikTok Post that belongs to the Identity you selected, or upload a video, to use as your ad creative.

  • ​Complete the rest of the Ad settings and click Submit.
