How to use Ad Level URL Parameters for Video Shopping Ads (for Catalog)

The Ad Level URL Parameters feature allows you to enter UTM parameters at the ad level to your product catalogs within TikTok Ads Manager. You can now sync your catalog to multiple platforms all at once and conduct cross-platform performance comparisons.

How to use Ad Level URL Parameters for Website URL or Custom and Product Link

Note: Select Product sales as the Advertising objective and Catalog as the Product source. This is required to use the Ad Level URL Parameters.



To use Ad Level URL Paramater for Website URL:

  1. Access the Website URL at the ad level when you set up an ad in the Ads details tab.

  2. Click build a URL Parameter or paste your own website URL and click preview.

  3. Input UTM parameters into their respective fields.

  4. Preview your URL Parameter.

Note: If you are pasting your own website URL do not include special characters like ?, &, or =, in your UM parameters.


To use URL Parameters for Custom and Product Link

Note: For ads opting into Dynamic Destination, the same URL parameters will be applied to the website and Instant Product Page.

  1. Access the Destination Link at the ad level when you set up an ad in the Ads details tab.

  2. Paste your website URL or click Build URL Parameter under the Destination Link.

  3. Input UTM parameters into their respective fields.


The UTM parameter will override any other parameters added manually or through rules set in Catalog Manager. It will not change any information or rules in your catalog.
