The Question section of the Instant Form editor allows you to add a Purpose Statement to explain the purpose of the form, create Custom Questions to ask questions related to your business or products, and gather Personal Information for future contact.
Add a purpose statement to clarify the intent behind the form and the rationale for gathering the information. This is a mandatory field for all form templates under Classic Layout.
To create a custom question, click +Add Custom Questions and select a question type from the following:
Short Answer: Ask people to write a short response to a custom question.
Multiple Choice: Offers a selection of up to 10 options for users to choose from.
You have the option to set one Multiple Choice question as your Qualifying Question. This option allows you to categorize leads to be Preferred or Not Preferred based on their response to the Multiple Choice question, and direct them to different Final Pages. For more information on Qualifying Question, refer to About the qualifying question option.
Appointment Scheduling: Allow users to select an Available Time for a follow-up call or appointment.
Image Select Question: Use images as answer options to increase user comprehension and create a visual experience. You can add up to 8 image answer options.
Conditional Answer: Dynamically display answer options based on the response to the previous question.
Business Locator question: Showcase business locations with address info and allow users to easily select a location based on proximity. Learn how to add a Business Locator question to your Instant Form. Note: This feature is not available to all advertisers at this time
Conditional Answer is a custom question type that allows you to dynamically display answer options based on the response to the previous question. You can add questions and corresponding answers by uploading a CSV file.
To create a Conditional Answer question:
In the Question section, click +Add Custom Question and select Conditional Answer from the drop-down menu.
Click Download Sample CSV file.
Enter the questions you wish to ask in the first row of each column; you can include a maximum of 5 questions, labeled from Column A to E.
The second row in the template intentionally remains blank; do not input any values.
From the third row onwards, provide options for each question and ensure correct mapping.
After editing the template, upload it to the Instant Form Editor by clicking Upload CSV File and selecting the edited file.
Upon successful upload, the content automatically transforms into a series of questions and options. In case of upload failure, you'll receive an error message. Update your CSV file accordingly and upload it again.
Note: While users will dynamically see answer options based on their response to the previous question, the questions and their sequence will remain consistent for all users.
Note: The updated Logic Settings for Instant Forms is not available to all advertisers at this time.
You can create personalized user journeys and qualify leads based on user responses using the upgraded Logic Settings for Instant Forms. With Logic Settings, you can:
Create dynamic Instant Forms: Build forms that adapt in real-time, changing follow-up questions or the Final Page a person sees based on their answers to previous questions.
End form for unqualified leads: End the form for people who don't meet your qualifying criteria without collecting their information.
Set up logic for Qualifying Questions: Use Logic Settings together with Qualifying Questions to segment and customize the form experience for preferred leads and non-preferred leads.
Visualize form logic: Easily check and verify your form’s logic flow on a logic map.
Notes:
To use the updated version of Logic Settings, you'll need to create a new form or copy from a form that uses one of the following templates: Simple Form, Rich Content Form, Question Card, or Blank Form.
You can only apply Logic Settings to Custom Questions.
You must set up all of the Custom Questions before enabling Logic Settings.
After enabling Logic Settings, you won't be able to adjust the order of questions.
To enable Logic Settings on your form:
Set up all the Custom Questions and arrange them in order.
Toggle on Logic Settings to begin setting up your form's logic flow.
Click Select action to determine what the user will see next. The available actions include:
Go to the next question: Direct the user to see an existing or new custom question. Click +Add a question to create a new question.
Complete all custom questions: Collect the information from the user and direct them to answer the Personal Info questions (if any) or a custom Final Page.
At this step, you can decide the Final Page the user will see upon submiting the form. Select the Final Page from the list or click + Add a final page to create a new page. You can customize the Final Pages in the Final Page tab.
Exit Form: Consider the user as a non-lead and direct them to a Final Page without collecting their information. The Final Page for non-leads can be customized in the Final Page tab. Note: Using Exit form may increase your cost per lead. We recommend using it only when you need to filter out people based on strict qualifying criteria.
Repeat the Select action step for all Custom Questions.
You have the option to set one of your Custom Questions (multi-choice or image type) as the Qualifying Question to segment leads into preferred or non-preferred.
Toggle on Qualifying Question and select Preference tag for answers.
While setting up the form logic, you can click View logic map to check your form's logic flow.
After making changes to questions or logic settings, refresh the logic map page or click View Logic Map again to view the updated version.
Ensure all Custom Questions are linked with Logic Settings; otherwise, an alert will appear in the Logic Map.
If you want to ask everyone the same Multiple Choice question before you start asking conditional questions, you should map each answer of the Multiple Choice question to the same question number. For example, if you would like users to answer Multiple Choice questions #1 & #2 and then conditionally show the following questions based on their answer to question #2, you need to map all answers of question #1 to question #2.
In the Personal Information section, you can add questions to collect user information based on the following categories:
Contact information: phone number, email, address, country, province/state, city, postal/zip code
User information: first name, last name, name
Demographics: gender
Work information: company name, job title, work email, work phone number
You can rearrange the order of your questions in your form by simply dragging them to the desired position.
Notes:
Whenever possible, personal information questions will be auto-filled in with the information of logged-in TikTok users. For more information on the auto-fill feature, refer to Autofill on TikTok.
For Simple Forms, personal information questions will be shown before the custom questions.
